Rack house
Our series of prototype houses explores some of the green concepts that we incorporate in our sustainable design projects. The Rack House features two of our specialty green features: "Living" green walls and solar panels.
WALDEN 3 PROTOHOUSE
This was a project proposed for New Orleans' Ninth Ward. It uses the Rack House structure but emulates the existing vernacular of the shot gun houses of New Orleans. The house can be one story or raised with parking below. The objective was to make the houses affordable, understandable, and environmentally sustainable. The proposed construction budget for each house was $25,000.
